Double-Oaked

Bourbon Whiskey

A Unique Twist on our Signature Bourbon

Double the Oak.

Double the Flavor.

Minglewood's Double-Oaked Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon is a unique twist to our Signature Bourbon. After aging 4 years in a Charred Barrel the Bourbon is dumped and aged in a Toasted Barrel for another year. The toasted oak adds a whole new layer of depth and flavor to the whiskey.

Making the Toasted Barrels is a more involved process than charred ones. The Toasted Barrels are done by hand, and it is up to the Cooper to determine how long and how hot to burn. This is done by starting a small fire using rejected barrel staves. Then the hollow barrel is placed over top of the fire, surrounding it. From there the Cooper monitors the fire and toasting until the barrel is finished.

The Bottle-in-Bond Act was implemented into Federal law on March 3, 1897. The purpose of the act was to bring more transparency to the shady whiskey industry of the late 1800s. Today the designation is a sign of authenticity and high quality. This batch of Bourbon was distilled in the Spring of 2019 and barreled in May of that year. All of the grain used is grown locally. 5 years (and 2 barrels) later, it has been taken out and bottled at exactly 100 proof. Each label is marked with the barrel used and the bottle number.
